Welcome to Parma Park Church of God

Parma Park Church of God history began in 1953 as the Clark Ave. Church of God with Rev. U.P. Gray. Rev. Lloyd Calhoun moved the church to Fulton Road in the mid-1950s. Rev. Paul & Lois Jones led the church’s growth, prompting a move to an unfinished building in Old Brooklyn in 1963, with church membership reaching almost 250.

Challenges with facilities led to another move to Parma in 1972, where seven acres of property were purchased. The Brookside congregation built a new sanctuary and educational wing, incorporating a former church building. Since the property bordered two Cleveland suburbs, the church adopted the name Parma Park Church of God.

Pastor Jones established a Kiddie Kollege in 1975, a day care nursery and preschool for working parents. He oversaw the construction of the Youth Center complex in 1977, which impacted teens and their families. The church’s thriving bus ministry reached many unchurched children.

In 1982, a new wing was added to the church, and Christian Life Academy opened in 1985. Pastor Paul Jones retired in 1994, and Rev. Bob & Sandra Duncan served for 21 years. The school ministry continued until 1999.

Rev. Michael & Shauna Smith led the church from 2015 to 2021, reestablishing it and renovating the sanctuary. He also led online worship during the pandemic.

Rev. Mike & Liz Collier assumed the pastorate in 2021, establishing new family ministries and outreach efforts. He led the church through a roof repair project.

Rev. Scott & Donna Skeens served as interim pastors in 2024 and were appointed in August.
